Pets, what a blessing

There are positive moments for the COVID 19 work at home situation all of us have been put in.  Mainly for our pets at home.  Ozzy and Freddy, both love to work with me all day.  Ozzy has a tendency to sit on my desk and watch me work.  Freddy likes to jump in my lap and get kisses, in fact, I had one embarassing moment when I was on a conference call and thought I was on mute but wasn't and gave Freddy a few kisses.

Bandit likes to hang out with Donna.

I am not sure what is going to happen when we go back to work.  We might have to send them all to a pet psychologist!

The New Normal for Office Meetings

5/11/2020

It has been along time since I have updated my blog and I am going to make it a purpose to update daily.

Today, working at home for the past two months has been tedious and difficult at times.  Once of the many nuisances is the concept of a virtual meeting.  I found this on YouTube and it definitely showcases a typical office meeting.

Give control and create leaders

I was blessed to have, in my opinion, the best professor in the world related to transformational leadership in my PhD program.  She taught me to view my leadership problems from the balcony, keeping in mind that everyone will have positive input into resolving any issue that may arise.  She taught me to stay humble, and listen first, and then inquire afterwards.

I have been challenged at my office with sharing the transformational leadership skills I learned from Dr. Gies and leading them to having a better understanding for implementing transformational leadership.

I am quite nervous about leading these strong leaders into a better understanding of transformational leadership, but I know with my leadership guardian angel standing on my shoulder, I can get the task completed.

My first lesson will be on empowerment and what that means to implement a transformational environment.

A book I read in one of my past summer institutes, is a great starting point to begin this transformational adventure.  Turn this ship around by L David Marquet.

My Purpose statement

I am blessed, blessed, with my family, my peers, and my cohort, and Dr. Guy E. White, I recently signed up for his dissertation accelerator program and have been making amazing progress with my dissertation.  I see the light at the end of the tunnel now and I feel awesome.  I am posting my first of many drafts of my purpose statement, feel free to comment or critique.

The purpose of this mixed method case study is to examine the implications of Federal Government CIO's not implementing a successful IT business ecosystem's for performance, compliance, and cybersecurity requirements of their respective agencies,  as defined by FITARA law utilizing  the social-technological theoretical framework  during the past 5 years as it impacts  the public's trust.

Systems thinking

In year two of my PhD transformation, our cohort studied System's thinking and Senge's five principles for a learning organization.  I recall a video that was shared by our professor that detailed how the idea of "Systems Thinking"  succinctly; How wolves changed a river (i.e. shared in a previous blog on my site.  I seen this video today and immediately reflect on the systems thinking methodology.  AWESOME!!!

It's been crazy at the office the past few months and I haven't updated my blog lately.  That stops today!  My first post if a few months.  I worked diligently on my problem statement tonight and bought a book from Amazon, "The Dissertation Warrior" by Dr. Guy E. White.  Awesome book and I recommend to anyone currently struggling with their dissertation.  Here is a clip from Youtube where he describes how to develop the Problem Statement.

My new theme song

3/18/2018

OK, this is my new theme song from Machine Head.  Everyone that knows me understands that I don't belong to a particular political party, I am neither Democrat, nor Republican.  I belong to the "Common Sense" party.

With that said, I definitely lean more a little bit more left than right.  I am a transformational, visionary, and humble leader that doesn't like to toot his own horn to much.

This song fit's me to a "T", I want everyone one to have opportunity, and I believe that this song covers that clearly.  If you don't agree, I understand, but understand where I come from now as well.  Enjoy!
